family…airing dirty laundry
When I first started this blog, my husband and I agreed we would not post pictures or use our full names, and I've stuck to this since my first entry. My husband is "Husband" and my son is "D". So I was a bit surprised when my husband and I had the following conversation:
HUSBAND: I like how I'm called Husband
ME: We agreed we weren't going to use names.
HUSBAND: Well, you could abbreviate my name.
ME: OK, what would you like?
HUSBAND: I don't know
ME: A silent "whatever"
I thought that was the end of the conversation, but a few moments later he pops into the room and says, "Phyllis Diller use to call her husband Fang."
ME: Fang? Like Dracula fangs? You want to be known as Fang?
Husband: No, I thought it was just funny.
End of conversation.
So, for the last week I've been pondering Husband's new moniker. I actually love Fang. It's awesome, but I think Phyllis Diller owns that. I momentarily considered something Native American like He Who Makes Grown Man Cry or Chief Tough Love. [BTW, I'm lovingly known as Rain Cloud] Those are too long and are more applicable to his professional personality.
After some thought and a lot of secret laughs at Husband's expense, I would like to introduce my husband, Doc.
Happy Valentine's Day Doc!
I love you!
